Baby Fire Biography
Baby Fire is a haunted rock band from Brussels formed around songwriter & lyricist Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock. It combines the energy of post-punk with feminine sensitivity. The strings are rough, the melodies catchy, the voices enthrall.
The band's debut album was released in 2011 on Cheap Satanism Records. Special guests included Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) and Dana Schechter (Insect Ark, The Angels of Light…). Their second album, The Red Robe, was recorded in the UK by former Buzzcocks member Tony Barber and released through Off Records in October 2014. It featured duets with Eve Libertine and Penny Rimbaud from Crass.
Gold, their third album, was produced by Pierre Vervloesem and released in October 2016 through Off Records.
Since the Spring of 2017, the new line-up is: Géraldine Buxant (drums), Fred Swan (bass & backing vox), Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock (guitar, loops & voice). Cécile Gonay (violin & backing vox) will be a recurring guest.
The band's 4th album is to be called Grace and is to be released in the autumn of 2018.
