Two of today’s most distinctive musical interpreters form a chamber-music dream duo. The program includes three major violin sonatas: Brahms’s third, Bartók’s second, and the sole surviving Janáček work of the form. Also included is György Kurtág’s Tre pezzi—a spacious work with careful interplay perfectly suited for the pair—and the New York premiere of a suite from Thomas Adès’s The Tempest.
