Core of Io Biography
"Without subscribing to the ‘djent’ camp, they prove themselves equally worthy of pushing forward the barriers of technical metal."
Core of iO are a four-piece who venture between the boundaries of Tech-Metal and Progressive Rock in a self assured and charismatic manner.
The quartet formed out of a desire to create interesting and well thought out compositions influenced by many genres of music, pushing themselves to improve technically and creatively along the way. Described as "Dynamic, intelligent and dripping with hooks", comparisons have fluctuated anywhere between Sikth , Fall of Troy, The Mars Volta and Deftones.
Over a planned four part set of releases, the band has toured nationally and on the festival circuit (Including UK Tech Fest 2017 and Mammothfest 2017), whilst constructing an energetic and memorable repertoire of songs.
The releases in this four part series are named after the moons of Jupiter and each E.P in this series has it’s own flavour stylistically. “Part II: Europa” is due out in November, and this penultimate installment represents another exciting evolution in the bands journey.
