MEAN SEA Biography
MEAN SEA is an alternative rock band from Baltimore, MD, formed by Michael Strackbein, Jeremy Hayes, and Shane Walsh in 2016. Drawing influence from punk, surf rock, and pop, the band's sound has been compared to the likes of PUP, My Chemical Romance, and The Hives. With an interesting blend of genres, MEAN SEA creates a nostalgic yet fresh sound that puts songwriting, heart, and energy at the forefront.
In 2017, MEAN SEA released their debut EP, “Sorry We're Late”. To kick off 2023 the band released the singles “Puke Mouth” and “Idiota Blanco”, in anticipation of their upcoming EP, “Trust Us We Know”, which releases March 10, 2023.
“From their catchy sensibilities to the raw cutting edge of their crunching guitars, to the ever-thoughtful nature of their lyrics and themes, MEAN SEA slots effortlessly alongside the more modern work of artists like PUP and Jeff Rosenstock." -CLOUT
