About this concert
GEORGE O’HANLON It is more than apt that George O’Hanlon is making his recorded debut with The Storm EP. Away from a stage or a microphone, the 21 year-old from Dorking might seem more inclined to simply shoot the breeze. Yet like nature itself, which with little warning can stir from merest whispers into a devastating tempest, through music O’Hanlon has the power to connect with some truly elemental forces. The Storm EP’s opening, and title, track makes this point with a smoldering beauty. From its gentle acoustic opening, O’Hanlon’s bare emotions are there for all feel, vocally running a spectrum from earthy to angelic, before the song first swells and then bursts with an intense passion worthy of its title. Support from: Tom Dulieu Dan Thomas Americana Singer-Songwriter with an Alt-Rock twist! Believing in the beauty of simplicity, Dan is a songwriter who likes to show people that anyone can write and play music. Singing in local rock and metal bands in his teens and twenties, Dan never believed he had what it took to play an instrument and write music. After growing frustrated with managing band schedules, Dan finally went out on his own in 2016, first playing covers and then finding the courage to write his own songs, starting with 'You Make Lovin' Easy', a song written for his wife for their wedding day. Combining simple songwriting with a powerful vocal performance, Dan believes "if you have a good ear for a melody and something to say, then you can write songs". After releasing his debut EP, Crawling On The Floor in 2018 and single Breathless in 2019, Dan has begun releasing new material in 2021, featuring guest appearances from the likes of Ash Fields, Ravi Amruth, Louise Parker & Minnie Birch! Steve Young Steve Young has been on the Hertfordshire Music Scene since 2008 teaching hundreds of local musicians old and young. Originally from the Isle of Wight - Steve moved to London after securing a major deal with Warner/ZTT as guitarist for the band Rehab. His career then side stepped into session playing starting with appearances on Top Of The Pops with Pete Andre and performing on V Graham Norton with Lionel Richie. In 2007 he joined ex Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes as his guitarist and eventually co-writer. Over 5 years they travelled the world performing on Radio, TV and venues inc The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, Sydney State Theatre, QPAC Arena and the LA Roxy to name a few. 2012 found Steve working as band leader for West End superstar Ramin Karimloo. Playing acoustic country versions of Musical Theatre classics they toured the USA, UK and S. Korea. More recently Steve has written and released three albums, featuring on the UK’s Caffe Nero playlist, Radio 2, Under The Apple Tree, C2C, Edinburgh Fringe, Cornbury, Black Deer Festival, UK tours and local venues.
