About this concert
The first taste of Rockets Science's new album "Push Play", is a bitter morsel. Delving into and delighting in post-everything nihilism, "Agitation",a litany of grievances, a shit list of actions, provocations, situations  and locations, was born of a howl into the void, a desperate dream shout, the kind that you want to shake you, out of the consumer, colonial dream, and into a new reality. A positive, wakeful now.Do the "Agitation' with Rocket Science.Let's move, shudder and shake together on dystopian dancefloors. R.S."Rocket Science is a music outfit from Australia that plays trashy-psychedelic-garage-punk with new wave, no-wave art-punk melodic enthusiasm. Since their first rehearsal in 1998, they have enjoyed playing together for 25 years. It's been a weird and varied experience for all. Still, one must say that this original line-up is a spectacular experience to behold. Each member of Rocket Science is diverse and unique. It is as unlikely as profound that the band exists at all. They find inspiration from observation and sound. The band will play in Sydney at The Great on Friday, September 1st and in Melbourne at Shotkickers on Friday, September 8th, in support of their upcoming Push Play LP's first new single, Agitation.

Rocket Science Biography

1) Rocket Science was an emo/indie band, active in the mid 1990's. They released two 7"s, both in 1996. Fans of Christie Front Drive will like this.

2) Rocket Science emerged from Melbourne in mid-1998. The indie rock four-piece, which consists of Roman Tucker (vocals), Kit Warhurst (drums), Dave Gray (bass), and Paul Maybury (guitar), had dreams of making it big in music since childhood. They compose a gritty, glam rock sound that's a little more edgy than the Vines' candied punk. Their first song, "Welcome Aboard," was written on the same day Rocket Science came together. From there, they built an Australian following, which later collected U.K. fans. Opening dates with Mudhoney and the Supersuckers following into 2000 and their debut full-length, Welcome Aboard the 3C10, appeared the next year. Rocket Science's sleazy, arrogant style was a buzz well into 2002 when they recorded the sophomore effort, Contact High. It wouldn't see a release date in Europe until mid-2003; however, fans tied themselves over with the electric Run Like a Gun EP which appeared earlier that spring.
