A new record label and production venture from two co-founders of DISTRIKT 501c3 nonprofit (known for their epic parties at Burning Man) & newly adopted nephew. With today’s model of music streaming and inexpensive downloads, artists rarely receive equitable financial return for their original work. DISTRIKT Sound aims to create an artist compensation model that pays artists a fair share of profits, as well as supporting the careers of the musicians and producers who work hard to create the music we all love. While DISTRIKT is known for producing large scale dance music events, we are an ever-evolving organization with a core believe that it is important to have a strong connection and meaningful experiences with the community that we celebrate. We regularly partner with community organizations and over the past decade have donated event proceeds to support local and national non-profit organizations, such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Habitat For Humanity, California Fire Foundation and the Burning Man Project.
