Depuis leur formation en 2008, le talent des membres du quatuor Hermès a été salué par le public et la presse du monde entier. Le Washington Post loue « leur forte personnalité, la beauté de leur son et leur grande précision, projetées avec flair et imagination » tandis que le New York Times parle d’une « captivante combinaison de détermination et de profondeur »

Leur déjà florissante carrière comprend des tournées aux quatre coins de l’Europe, en Asie (Chine, Japon, Taiwan), aux Etats-Unis et en Amérique du Sud, ainsi qu’au Maroc, en Egypte ou aux Emirats Arabes Unis. Ils sont fréquemment invités dans de grands festivals français et étrangers comme les Flâneries Musicales de Reims, le Festival Radio France/ Montpellier, le festival du Périgord Noir, le festival de Colmar, le festival de L’Orangerie de Sceaux, le festival de Pâques de Deauville ; au Cheltenham Music Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern festival, Krzyzowa Music Festival, Mantova Chamber Music festival…
Régulièrement invité aux Etats-Unis, le quatuor s’y est produit dans de prestigieuses salles comme le Kennedy Center de Washington ou au Carnegie’s Zankel Hall à New York.

Un parcours jalonné de rencontres déterminantes : les quatuors Ravel, Ysaÿe, et Artemis avec lesquels les quatre musiciens se sont formé et ont développé une pensée musicale commune ; puis des personnalités marquantes comme Eberhard Feltz à Berlin, et plus tard Alfred Brendel, immense inspiration avec lequel ils travaillent régulièrement aujourd’hui.

Le quatuor Hermès a reçu de nombreux prix prestigieux : « Révélation Musicale de l ‘Année » du Prix de la Critique 2014-15, le « Nordmetall Ensemble Preis 2013 » du festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
1er Prix du Concours International de Genève 2011, 1er Prix au concours FNAPEC 2010, 1er Prix du Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon 2009, et 1er Prix aux YCA international auditions à New York.
Artistes en Résidence à la Chapelle Reine Elisabeth de Bruxelles de 2012 à 2016, ils sont soutenus depuis 2015 par la fondation d’entreprise Banque Populaire.

Le dernier disque du Quatuor Hermès, les trois quatuors op.41 de Robert Schumann (paru chez La Dolce Volta), a reçu d’élogieuses critiques et récompenses, donc un Choc de L’Année 2015 du magazine Classica et a été recommandé par The Strad Magazine et Télérama.
Un nouvel enregistrement sur le même label et consacré aux quatuors de Debussy, Ravel et Dutilleux sortira courant 2017.

Elise Liu joue un violon David Tecchler prêté par le Fonds Instrumental Français.
Depuis Aout 2016, Omer Bouchez joue un violon de Joseph Gagliano 1796 prêté par Mécénat Musical Société Générale.

The luminous talent of the Hermès Quartet members has consistently brought them acclaim. The Washington Post praises their “world-class quartet playing” and says “they will likely take their place among the top quartets of our time.” This season, the Quartet (violinists Omer Bouchez and Elise Liu, violist Yung-Hsin Chang, and cellist Anthony Kondo) performs at the Evergreen Museum and Library and at Montreal’s Ladies’ Morning Musical Club, and has been invited to return to the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach and Rockefeller University. Their far-reaching and flourishing career also includes tours throughout France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium, as well as performances in the United Arab Emirates.

The Paris-based Hermès Quartet has already been heard in prestigious European venues. They have been presented in Italy at the Chamber Music Association of Trieste and Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, as well as in performances in Argentina and Japan, and they have been frequent guest artists at music festivals around the world such as the Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, Festival de Colmar, the Krzyzowa Music Festival and Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In the U.S., they have given recitals at the Lied Center of Kansas, the University of Georgia, the Friends of Chamber Music in Texas, Iowa State University, University of Florida Performing Arts, Peoples’ Symphony Concerts, Candlelight Concert Society, Feldman Chamber Music Society, the Chamber Music Society of Williamsburg, the Embassy Series, Buffalo Chamber Music Society, Schneider Concerts at The New School, the National Gallery of Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Hayden’s Ferry Chamber Music Series, Wave Hill, Stephens Performing Arts Center, and the Morgan Library and Museum.

Winner of the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Hermès Quartet made its U.S. debuts to rave reviews at the opening concerts of the Young Concert Artists Series at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, and at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. The Quartet has been awarded many prestigious prizes: a “2014-15 Prix de la Critique: Revelation Musicale” from Association profesionnelle de la critique théâtre, musique et danse; the 2013 NORDMETALL Ensemble Prize from the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern; First Prize at the 2011 Geneva International Music Competition and the “Coup de Coeur Breguet” prize, which brought them a recording on the Ysaÿe Records/Nascor label; First Prize in the 2012 European Young Concert Artists Auditions in Leipzig, Germany; First Prize at the 2010 European Chamber Music Competition in Paris; and First Prize at the 2009 Lyon International Music Competition, along with three special awards and the Bayer “Coup de Coeur” prize. The Quartet currently holds the Helen F. Whitaker Chamber Music Chair of YCA and the Florence Gould Foundation Fellowship, and was the 2012-16 Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels.

The Quartet’s new CD, Schumann’s 3 Quartets Op. 41, is garnering critical praise and prizes including Classica Magazine’s “Choc de l’année” and “Le Choix de France Musique.” Classical Music Magazine wrote: “Oozing freshness in every bar, this young French quartet is entirely delightful in these three great works. Phrasing, intonation and blend are spot on, and the performers temper the composers impetuousness with tenderness and grace. Excellent sound.”

The members of the Quartet met at the Lyon Conservatory and formed the ensemble in 2008 under the tutelage of Zoltan Toth and Reiko Kitahama. They have worked with the Artemis Quartet at the Universität der Künste Berlin, and studied at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Paris with members of the Ysaÿe Quartet. The Quartet receives support from the Foundation Banque Populaire.

艾赫默斯弦樂四重奏（Quatuor Hermès）

第66屆日內瓦大賽首獎得主艾赫默斯四重奏成立於2008年，成員均為法國里昂高等音樂院學生，曾受教於拉威爾弦樂四重奏（Quatuor Ravel）及易沙意弦樂四重奏（Quatuor Ysaÿe），深受其賞識及提攜。2009年首次參加國際性室內樂比賽，即於法國里昂國際室內樂大賽囊括首獎在內的五項特別獎，2010年再獲巴黎FNAPEC室內樂比賽首獎，展開職業演奏生涯，足跡遍及歐洲各地及北美，多次受邀於法國國家廣播電台現場及歐洲各大音樂節演出。2010年秋受邀至加拿大班夫（Banff）藝術中心之擔任短期駐村藝術家，2011年夏天應小提琴家Gidon Kremer之邀請於世界著名之奧地利Lockenhaus音樂節演出，曾與Kim Kashkashian、Miguel da Silva、Reto Bieri等音樂家同台。　

2011年艾赫默斯四重奏獲第66屆日內瓦國際大賽評審及樂評一致肯定，獲得首獎及“Coup de coeur Breget”特別獎，將於2012年出版首張專輯。

四重奏成員現居柏林，於柏林藝術大學及巴黎音樂院追隨Artemis Quartett及Quatuor Ysaÿe進修。
