About this concert
The Rotary Arts Centre presents Kylie Fox (Saint John, NB) and Braden Lam (Halifax, NS) LIVE in-person on Thursday September 30th at 8 pm.
Kylie and Braden are paving the way for a new generation of songwriters from Atlantic Canada with their unique blends of Alt-Folk and Folk-Pop. If you like Tim Baker, Joni Mitchell, Joel Plaskett, Kate Bush, Fortunate Ones, Rose Cousins, or Kellie Loder then you will LOVE this show. This is your chance to say “I saw them before they were famous”.
For Kylie, Newfoundland runs in her blood. Her namesake is the S.S. Kyle, a steam vessel parked in the St. John’s harbour, once captained by her great grandfather. Braden spent his childhood in the suburbs of Ontario, listening to Great Big Sea and Hey Rosetta!, dreaming of the day his east coast calling would be answered. Both artists released highly-acclaimed albums in 2020 and have been long awaiting the opportunity to tour their songs across Newfoundland. Treat yourself to an evening of musical stories, laughs, and most of all - connection. Everyone is welcome!
Praise for Braden Lam - “The singer-songwriter best poised to follow Tim Baker’s footsteps" - The Coast Halifax
Praise for Kylie Fox - “An artist whose ability to distill observation into song far exceeds the local average. " - Grid City Magazine
