Jay Humphreys Trio Biography

In 1976 at the age of 13, Jay began singing. His parents, Jim and Jo Humphreys, started the Good News Singers and later changed the name to The Humphreys Family. They traveled for 26 years singing across the eastern United States and saw many souls saved.
In 1995 Jay’s mother went home to be with the Lord. After continuing to sing for a short time, the family decided to come off the road. Following a short break from singing, Jay joined the Praisemen Quartet filling the bass position. After singing lead for 26 years with his family, it was a big change but very enjoyable. Jay sang with the Praisemen Quartet for 4 years and he had the privilege to share the stage with many of Gospel Music's greats such as Gold City, The Kingsmen, Tony Gore, Mark Trammell Trio, The Inspirations, The McKameys, Squire Parsons and many more.
Now, the Lord has opened another door for Jay with his daughters, Cassie and Cloe. Jay's wife, Melanie, and daughter Cara, also play a vital role in the family group. Jay is excited to be able to travel with his family and states, "It is a privilege to carry on the Humphreys singing tradition with the third generation of what was started over 30 years ago. I thank God daily for saving my soul and all the many blessings that He has given me. Our mission is to be an instrument for Him for the up-building of His Kingdom, and our desire is to see people uplifted.
