Andy Stack Biography

Buffalo Stack is a roots rock-n-roll ensemble from the Hudson Valley of New York state. Formed in 2014 by Andy Stack, who left the sideman hustle in New York City for a more creative life amidst the Hudson river, the Catskill mountains, and a fruitful music scene. Members of the band include the most seasoned and talented players and singers of the region. The "Hammer and Nails" EP features Jeremy Baum on organ and keyboards, Connor Kennedy on keyboards, Tania Elizabeth on vocals and fiddle, Adrien Reju on vocals and assistant production, Lindsey Webster on vocals, Jay Collins on tenor sax, Nichole Davis on trumpet, Zach Jones on drums, and Tony Tino on bass. This record is a take on classic R-n-B and Soul music, with some country flavor as well. Basic tracks were cut to a vintage Ampex tape machine and overdubs were done in the Buffalo Stack recording studio, taking care to recreate the classic tones of the 60's and 70's. Lyrically playful and musically soulful, Buffalo Stack is a great band to see live where the music stretches out and comes to life. "Buffalo Stack is an easy band to like. The ensemble’s debut record is a mix of various styles, including rock, soul, country, and blues. Saying that, though, gives the music short shift because in some ways it almost seems indefinable…the band is a cohesive unit…(Andy Stack's) guitar playing is never flashy, but it’s surprising, soulful, and always in the right place. ...he has an engaging, pure voice…here’s hoping the group will build up a strong enough following to be around a while and make more great music." - JOHN HEIDT, Vintage Guitar Magazine For more info please visit www.buffalostack.com Hudson Valley Roots Rock n Roll, now on i-tunes, CD Baby and Spotify
