Fresh from supporting Boston Manor (UK), Movements (USA), and Loathe (UK), Bad Juju stride into a new era with their powerful new single ‘The Other Side’ & we invite you to celebrate with us at the single launch show on Saturday, April 29th. Having worked hard over several months in the studio with the dream team of Sam Bassal (Ocean Grove, Trophy Eyes) and Callan Orr (Hands Like Houses, Dream on Dreamer) Bad Juju are back to unveil the first taste of these efforts. Vocalist Russell Holland writes: “we spent months in the studio and came up with something special. We’ve made something completely fresh and think these songs will really surprise a lot of people”. Just as the title itself suggests a journey into the unknown, the track sees Bad Juju step into new territory, merging industrial and electronic elements with their trademark post-hardcore-tinged rock sound. Drawing on existential themes, the lyrics speak of inner turmoil – the feeling trapped by negative thoughts while recognising the need to confront them to find a way out. ‘The Other Side’ is a compelling testament to the power of music to explore complex emotions and themes, and to connect with listeners on a deep level. ‘The Other Side’ is just the beginning of a very big year for the Melbourne 5 piece. Since debut EP ‘Be There for Me’ dropped in 2020, the band has toured the country with their unique mix of catchy chorus and breakdowns.
