About this concert
DELPHINE DORA
Some artists are just impossible to keep up with, yet you want to devour everything they deliver into the world. Over the past 15 years or so Delphine Dora has been relentlessly creating her own highly specific muscial world, but one she draws countless collaborators into. A self-taught keyboardist, Dora has cultivated a unique voice in contemplative composition, both prepared and spontaneous. Her style in constant flux, more recent works have introduced her transluscent, sparse, untrained voice, hovering above the keyboard, mixing various languages and glossolalia freely, inviting the listener into a previously unspoken wor(l)d. Over 40 albums deep into a super-prolific career, Dora keeps things fresh by working with a vast range of comrades, including Roxane Métayer, Sophie Cooper, Andrew Chalk, Wolf Eyes, and Valentina Magaletti.

PEFKIN
Pefkin is the alter ego of Gayle Brogan, creator of slowly-unfolding, ritualistic psychedelic hymnals that draw heavily on the landscape and natural world. She uses layers of vocals, violin, analogue synth and zither, has received comparisons to Coil, Popul Vuh and Nico, and has performed at GI Festival, a symposium on alchemy in sound, on a remote Orkney island in a kelp-drying shed, Terrascopian Woolf festival and on Radio 3?s Exposure strand. She is also a member of Burd Ellen and Meadowsilver.

Pefkin Biography
Gayle Brogan is known for many things in this little world of ours. She first came into the spotlight as a member of the excellent Electroscope with John Cavanagh and by printing the lovely Boa fanzine. As the years have moved forward, her importance to this scene has grown exponentially. Boa eventually morphed into Boa Melody Bar, the premier European/UK dealer of all types of music. The service she provides to people all over the world, but especially across the Atlantic cannot be ignored. Brogan has probably heard more music than any of us could ever dream of, and her influence is undeniable. Now, she's moving forward with her solo project, Pefkin, which will open even more doors. All hail Gayle!
