About this concert
“Tristen does upbeat melancholy like nobody I’ve heard since Blondie.”
Robyn Hitchcock
For nearly two decades, Tristen has consistently set (and reset) the bar for clever, left-of-center pop, releasing five records and a bevy of singles that have established her as one of the most unique voices in Nashville. On her latest, Aquatic Flowers, she raised that bar once again, delivering “hooky arrangements that tickle the ear and won’t leave your brain alone” (NPR) while meditating on the human condition with stories of love in all its complicated forms.
It’s a message she’s more prepared to share now than ever as an artist, activist, mother of two, and small business owner. In 2018, fresh off the road from touring behind her 2017 release Sneaker Waves (described by Rolling Stone as having "Nilsson-worthy power balladry"), she established a non-profit Please Vote Nashville, which publishes a voter guide in her city and the following year, she opened Anaconda Vintage, a beloved vintage clothing shop in East Nashville.
Her collaborator list is dizzying and dazzling: touring in Jenny Lewis’ band, co-writing with Caitlin Rose and co-writing and touring with Vanessa Carlton, vocals in countless recording sessions across Nashville, more shows with Those Darlins, The Elected, Justin Townes Earle, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons, and Television. She released Saturnine, a chapbook of poetry in 2016. Her songs have appeared in countless television shows and films.

They are Always great to hear in concert! Fantastic modern-retro sound with Tristen’s awesome voice. And some of her descriptions from her songs’ origins will make you laugh. Great personality and human being.
