About this concert
BLACK MASS is a multi-disciplinary, shape-shifting experimental art project led by Black artistic duo Ihab S Balla and Paul Gorrie. It’s a concept club night convening internationally acclaimed Black artists— dameeeela, SOVBLKPSSY and Crybaby—as they use club music to push questions of Black freedom, desire, and possibility. A sonically insurgent ritual of inversion, Black Mass is an invitation to dance and trace liberatory horizons, new orders of being, and adjacency.Doors 8:00pmCrybaby 8:30pm-9:45pmSOVBLKPSSY 9:45pm-11:00pmHALF QUEEN 11:00pm-12:30amBAMBII 12:30am-2:30amDameeela 2:30am-4:00am

Black Mass Biography

Black Mass is a three-piece Thrash Metal band formed in early 2012. A power trio with a focus for the true sound of thrash, the band derives influences from 80's Thrash (Slayer/Razor), Old School Death Metal (Death/Morbid Angel), Scandinavian Black Metal (Darkthrone/Aura Noir), and Overcharged Rock n' Roll (Motörhead/Inepsy).

The band released their first EP titled "The Second Coming" in April 2013 which saw local support throughout the North East U.S. and a 10 date tour in Europe. After an extensive amount of live performances throughout the North East with both local and national acts the band followed up with their first full length release in October 2015 titled "Ancient Scriptures". In support of this release the band has completed three separate East Coast tours, two tours throughout the West Coast, and three tours in Northeastern Canada between 2015-2018.

In May of 2017 the band released a two track demo, recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio, to showcase material from their upcoming sophomore album. They followed up in April of 2018 with Mystic Valley Studio to complete tracking for their upcoming full length release. The new album titled "Warlust" is due out February 15th via Iron Shield Records/Timeworn Records.
