About this concert
Catch the band a year after the release of Radiate Like This, a sunnier turn for Warpaint’s dreamy California fusion of bright guitars and dusky vocals. Radiate Like This was the band’s first release in six years, but it delivered a gorgeous, open-hearted wave of songs well worth the wait, and laden with optimism – guitarist and singer Emily Kokal told The Guardian that she ‘had a little bit more warmth that [she] wanted to sing and express.’ Across 2004’s The Fool, 2014’s Warpaint and 2016’s Heads Up, Warpaint have honed a brand of intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post punk rhythms. Both on record and on stage the band sound like they're channelling something otherworldly and mystical. We’re in for a treat when they come to the Southbank Centre for Christine and the Queen’s Meltdown.

The Northcote theatre is an amazing venue for the senses. Great sound in a beautiful building. Warpaint were absolutely everything that I hoped they would be! Mesmerising vocals and an overall great show. I just wished they played longer!
