Rosemary Butler Biography

ROSEMARY BUTLER gained popularity as a back-up singer alongside Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Carole King, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Loggins, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, and many other A-listers. Blessed with a four-octave mezzo-soprano range, her vocal expertise is a technical marvel. She began her career playing bass and singing in an all-girl Orange County-based band called The Ladybirds that appeared on several LA-area TV shows and opened for The Rolling Stones. She formed the all-female hard rock band BIRTHA that released two early 70s albums for ABC-Dunhill Records. Rosemary was the contractor and co-conductor of the 100 Voice Choir featured on Neil Young’s Living with War album and movie, and the Super Bowl pre-game show with Glenn Frey, President Clinton’s Inauguration, and The Grammys have all been graced by her voice. She won a Telly Award for a video retrospective look at her fascinating career. Rosemary’s latest solo album, the critically acclaimed YOU JUST WATCH ME, was released in 2013 with the help of her friends Kenny Loggins and Jackson Browne. www.RosemaryButler.com
