Mi Mye Biography
Wakefield/Leeds supergroup Mi Mye is formed of current and past members of (take a breath) Carpet, Buen Chico, Death to Everyone, Crake, Little Japanese Toy, Valley of Arches, St Gregory Orange, The Old House, THANK and Soft Orca, who bring life to songwriter Jamie Lockhart's perceptive and heartbreaking lyrics, told in the style of his elected grandparents, Willie John and Bella, from his upbringing on the far north coast of the Scottish Highlands. That's the long version. In short, as summarised by Sam from the Republic of Athens Records podcast: 'if Belle and Sebastian listened to Pavement'. Mi Mye features a gently movable line-up of members, each bringing their own incredible musicianship and personality.
Mi Mye have been compared to Sparklehorse, the National and Will Oldham.
