Monica has made records with Belle and Sebastian, Chris Coco, and James Grant among others. She was the singer in the awesome Thrum and presently makes records with Johnny Smillie under her own name that are like no other records you'll hear. No attempt to pastiche other artists or be part of any scene, they are as unique as they are beautiful. More inspired by soundtracks than the history of pop with a voice that has been compared to Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins, Emmylou Harris, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Kate Bush.
