Barnill Brothers Biography
Barnill Brothers is a Brussels-based duo of singer-songwriters consisting of Barnabé Deliens and Ruben Hillewaere.
Both math teachers during their spare time, they let go of integrals and all kinds of rational thoughts to set free their emotional state. Their music radiates some kind of glow lamp intimacy, whispering to your ears the hope of a better world, or claiming their determination to run away from a poisoning routine. They blend their voices and guitars to make them sound as one, along with a solid rhythm section with blues and folk influences.
Since the release of their debut EP “Parallel Lives” in 2017, they played with their band in various intimate and beautiful venues in Belgium, endorsed by Belgian contests and accompaniment programs (Propulse, Ça Balance,…).
Their debut album ‘A Better Place’ is out February 14 on Trad Records, recorded in Ghent by Jan Chantrain (Balthazar, Gabriel Rios) and produced by Douglas Firs. Swinging between intimate fireside stories and incisive groovy songs, ‘A Better Place’ is written by two young men concerned with the uncertainties of our times, yearning for their ideal life path and a deep breath of pure unpolluted air.
