A very terrific and satisfying night of music. Ben’s son and daughter opened the show with a beautiful and memorable set. They were joined by a keyboard player.
Ben started with some solo pieces on slide then the Criminals joined him onstage for a few songs
before he played solo again. The ensemble was tight and really rocked. Ben played a bluesy song he wrote for Mavis Staples on slide that really stood out—-it may have been
called “Freedom” or “Things Have to Change.” (?)
After leaving the stage the band reappeared for an a cappella song followed by a abbreviated version of All Along the Watchtower
segueing into another couple tunes—-then they said so long and thank you. They played for a solid two hours~~~~~a great way to kick off their current tour! The audience was enthusiastic and appreciative—-good times for everyone!
