Scarlett and The Fever Biography
Scarlett and The Fever fuses soul, jazz, reggae and ska into one unique sound and vibe. No gimmicks - no neo-retro nostalgia - just well-crafted songs expertly executed by front woman, Scarlett Brais. Scarlett seamlessly weaves through the music with her one-of-kind voice and powerful stage presence, telling stories with her songs and drawing in listeners with every note. The talented musicians who make up ‘The Fever’ bring extra heat and energy to the group. Pulsing drums, heavy bass rhythms, and catchy melodies accented by punching horn lines combine for an unforgettable sound that gets people grooving.
Since their formation in 2014, Scarlett and The Fever’s high energy live performances and refined showmanship have led them to open for various acts including: Save Ferris, HIRIE, Alborosie, and Don Carlos. Their self-produced 2016 album, Soul Ready, lead to features on radio/podcast shows including: The Reggae Show with Junior Francis (KXLU 88.9fm), International Reggae Station, Roots Time Radio, KUCI Radio and KPFK 90.7 FM. In 2017, the band made their national television debut with a live broadcast feature on ABC 7 in support of Spark of Love.
2019 finds Scarlett and The Fever working with famed producer/bassist John Avila (Oingo Boingo/Reel Big Fish) to release a new collection of music. Slated for several summertime releases, these new songs highlight the band’s sophisticated ability to merge various genres into one cohesive style and sound, while spotlighting their growth as songwriters.
