Brett Gleason Biography

“A true original.” –Newsday

“Mystical and mesmerizing. Brett Gleason makes a formidable impression.” –Goldmine

“An artist truly finding his footing as a great songwriter.” –Atwood Magazine

Brett Gleason’s new single “Real Love” arrives June 9th (Meridian/ECR Music Group), the first track to be released from his forthcoming album Prophesy (2023). “Real Love” follows on a wave of critical acclaim for the accomplished Los Angeles-based songwriter and performer, a wave that has landed him a new record deal with ECR Music Group’s Meridian imprint.

The artist credits a childhood speech impediment leading to a mastery of multiple instruments (Gleason performs all the instruments on “Real Love” except for drums). “I was super-isolated growing up, even in Huntington, New York,” shares Gleason. “I spent most of my youth as a competitive gymnast and classical pianist.” Gleason’s immersive studies at the Long Island School for the Arts led him to The New School in New York City where he later received dual degrees in music composition and fiction.

His first two self-released efforts were met with both critical and commercial success, each reaching the Top #100 on iTunes’ Alternative charts, with Gleason scoring the #1 Video on MTV Logo’s The Click List.

Gleason’s new album, Prophesy, is the next step in his evolution, one exemplified by the album’s first single. Recorded in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, mixed by Phil Duke in Brooklyn, and mastered by Will Quinnell at Sterling Sound, “Real Love” is not the kind of love song one might expect––not the standard Hollywood romance you see in the movies. On the contrary, “I’m not looking to be swept off my feet,” sings Gleason. “I’m just looking to stand strong.”

With a new label deal, a new single, and the release of his next full-length record set for early 2023, Brett Gleason is standing strong indeed, while ready to step forward into an exciting year ahead.

“Real Love,” the first single from Brett Gleason’s Prophesy, will be released June 9th on Meridian (ECR Music Group).
