If the music makes your head nod, feet shuffle, turn n’ wine and skank out, chances are DJ Fusion could be the man behind the turntables! Since his teens, Fusion has been party rocking at some of the most notorious nightclubs in the UK. Whether it’s R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Grime or Dubstep - if it gets the people going, he plays it! His style is a unique multi-genre blend, which covers every angle of urban music. In being flexible and adaptable to the crowd, Fusion appeals to a diverse audience and provides an opportunity to appreciate a complete mix of urban music. He also brings originality and creativity to his sets with live remixing, giving a personal spin on current hits and classic tracks. Tempo transitions and beat juggling are also standard procedure in a DJ Fusion set. Aged 21, having achieved his Access to Music Diploma and having developed the ability to produce and engineer music, Fusion now has almost 4 years nightclub experience under his belt. He has been fortunate enough to DJ alongside many of his idols and inspirations, from spinning with Tim Westwood, Heartless Crew, Seani B, DJ Target, Semtex & Steve Sutherland, to supporting stars like Tinie Tempah, N Dubz, Wretch 32, Professor Green, Tinchy Stryder, Skepta, Giggs & Roll Deep along their path to stardom. He has also shook the speakers in the presence of US artists and celebrities such as The GAME, Rev Run, Nas, J Cole, Damien Marley, Travis McCoy, Ne Yo & Mike Tyson, to name but a few. Not at all bad for Jamie Kelly, Macclesfield born, Manchester bred. ‘If it wasn’t for the music I don’t know what we’d do, you know the music stepped in and saved my life’ – Garage classic, DJ Narrows, Saved Soul. An accurate sentiment for Fusion when looking at his life as both man and boy and a motto which drives him forward on his path to success. Currently he hosts the weekly ‘Urban Essentials’ show on Unity Radio Manchester, the home of ‘Big Beats and Bigger Basslines’. A self made brand recognisable across the world with both online listeners tuning in from Australia, to the U.S, as well as the more local listeners tuned in on their radios across Manchester. He has enhanced this brand further with mix CD’s, blogs, social networking and personalised t-shirts. In addition, Fusion has also featured on air producing tracks and various guest-mixes for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DJ Q, Mistajam & CJ Beatz. As well as being a talented presenter, he has had work experience in other areas within radio broadcasting which has provided him with studio management and production skills. Through his show and various other mediums, Fusion has quickly become a respected, leading pioneer of new UK and international urban music. A wise man once said - ‘It’s essential to play new music. If you don’t play new music in your sets, there will be no forwards in the future’ (David Rodigan) – this is a motto he lives and spins by! Latest Projects? A short while back, Fusion became part of the DJ City team – one of the world’s leading music pools. He distributes new music to professional DJ’s across the world, as well as his own exclusive material. Additionally, he contributes to the weekly UK i-Tunes podcast mixes. Fusion is currently involved in JAM – Just About Music. A nightclub event set up with friends Stylus and G2 based on the original party experience where people went out for good music. The brand was kick-started in 2011 and has taken Manchester by storm since. The boys are looking to spread further a field in the not so distant future. So what’s to come? DJ Fusion aims to be at the pinnacle of urban music, whichever radio station and club that may be. He plans to continue on his path to the top until his ears can’t take it any longer!
