About this concert
J.S. Bach ging in de winter van 1705 te voet naar Lübeck om Dietrich Buxtehude te horen. Hij bleef veel langer weg dan gepland. Dat deze studiereis de moeite waard was, horen we in dit concert. Emmanuel Van Kerckhoven bespeelt het Reilorgel met prachtige orgelwerken van oa D. Buxtehude, N. Bruhns en V. Lübeck.
Afwisselend zingt Astrid Stockman de mooiste sopraanaria’s uit Bachs cantates samen met The Antwerp Baroque Orchestra.

The Antwerp Baroque Orchestra Biography
The Antwerp Baroque Orchestra is a period-instrument ensemble well known for it’s pure and authentic performances of baroque music. Artistic director, Emmanuel Van Kerckhoven, concentrated his carreer on Bach’ music before he founded the orchestra in 2011.
The ensemble carefully chooses appropriate instruments, a suitable location and a well-considered interpretation. As a result, the vitality and subtle character of baroque work is transferred to the audience in a natural, spontaneous way.
