Hilang Child Biography
Hilang Child is the musical project of London/Brighton based Welsh-Indonesian singer, drummer and songwriter Ed Riman. An official recipient of the PRS Foundation Open Fund, he recently released the singles ‘Lapwings’, ‘Picture Hanging’ and 'Hey Man', featuring on BBC 6 Music's New Music Fix and being added the BBC Radio Wales Welsh A-List. In November the Face Magazine named him as one of "9 East and South East Asian Musicians Worth Checking Out Now". The journey continues with his newest release '5, 6, Sidekick', released May 2024.
Praised as a talent for rich textural arrangements, anthemic hooks, a “perfect pop-soul heart” (Monocle Magazine) and “ecstatic vocals” (Clash, 8/10), reviewers have described how Hilang Child “weaves his magic with a combination of emotional intensity and much needed positivity” (The Sun, 4*). In his live shows he performs and sings from the drums, backed by a saxophonist, ditching understated tones in favour of energy and an upfront, upbeat sonic. Previous live appearances include London’s Southbank Centre, SXSW, Iceland Airwaves and headline + support dates around the UK and in Indonesia.
