About this concert
Marius chante en s'accompagnant de son violon à 5 cordes, et il est accompagné
par de très talentueux musiciens multi-instrumentistes qui donnent
toute leur valeur à ses compositions : Benjamin d’Anfray au piano,
Shane McGeehan à la contrebasse et Noé Benita à la batterie. Respectivement
issus de la musique classique, du bluegrass et du jazz, ces musiciens
sont capables de jouer beaucoup de styles de musiques différents
et se les approprient avec leurs personnalités artistiques riches et originales.
Lors des concerts, on est tantôt pris de l'envie de danser par une
chanson cajun endiablée, tantôt bercé par une bossa, tantôt irrigué de
soleil par un rythme vénézuélien énergique ou interpellé par une chanson
à texte.

Marius Pibarot Biography
Based between Paris and New York, Marius is half French, half American. He plays violin, double bass, mandolin, sings and composes. He studied jazz at the Paris region conservatory (CRR), with Didier Lockwood in France and with Christian Howes in the US.
He leads his own duo violin/cello, in which he mixes his own compositions with other tunes and songs of as many influences as the different bands he's part of (bluegrass, Armenian, Tukish, Venezuelan, French music...)
Plays violin, double bass, cuatro, and sings, in the Collectif Medz Bazar which composes et arranges the traditional musics from Anatolia, Caucasius and Balkan, adding jazz, hip-hop, bluegrass and latino influences. The kind of music which breaks mental and political barriers thanks to its lyrics and energy.

Plays violin in the Ben Somers' String Band, a european bluegrass/new acoustic band based in London, which explores bluegrass and goes beyond, with a lot of jazz influences especially in the original songs.
