About Myra

There are two artists with the name MYRA.
MYRA – the name stands for metal at its best, both live and on their records: pushing verses, stomping mosh parts taking turns with catchy tunes and great guitar solos as well as a smashing double bass drum and aggressive vocals – that’s the sound of MYRA: sporty down-the-line metal. Influenced by bands such as Hatesphere, In Flames, At the Gates, Devin Townsend, Unearth, Soilwork or Firewind, MYRA manage to play a dynamic, powerful and outstanding metal sound. In 2003, MYRA was formed by Henrik “Heavyette” Zeltner (guitar), Robert Seyferth (bass) and Sebastian Schneider (drums). Sebastian Spillner (vocals) joined the band one year later and in 2005 the line-up was completed by Rony Henkel (guitar). Although they had not recorded anything at the time, MYRA was frequently live on stage and made themselves a name as a professional and brutal live band by supporting bands like Maroon, Himsa, Born from Pain, Disillusion, Hand to Hand, Deadlock, Heaven Shall Burn or 3 Inches Of Blood. In April 2006 MYRA recorded a 4 track EP on their own that met throughout positive reviews and reactions by fans and press. Concerning the lyrics, MYRA do not make any compromise, so that tackling social and political problems goes without saying. In addition to that, personal experiences overcome in a lyrical way make them appear absolutely authentic. MYRA are against any kind of totalitarianism, fascism and racism. Supporting the “Good Night White Pride” campaign is a matter of course. The majority of the band members are straight edge and vegans or vegetarians. Due to personal reasons Robert had to leave the band at the end of 2007. Felix Thyrolf, member for A Walk Trough Peril took his place. The signing to the german label European Label Group marks the next step for the band. The release of “The Venom It Drips” and dozens of shows to come will bear MYRA to the next level…

MYRA
MYRA burst onto the scene 5 years ago with a Debut Album on Buena Vista Records, a Spanish album with Hollywood Records, her First Feature Film Role and Primetime Network Debut. "Recording my first album is a dream come true," said the then 16-year-old MYRA. The debut album by Buena Vista Records hit streets on June 26, 2001. Her single “Miracles Happen” off her self-titled debut album landed her with a Gold Record at a young age and became the theme song for the movie Princess Diaries. The pop label began laying the groundwork for the release by sending MYRA on the road as opening act for Jive Records star Aaron Carter in 2001. She was invited back on the road for a Nickelodeon sponsored tour in summer 2001. Additionally, her version of the Motown classic “Dancing In The Street” was the end-title for the animated feature "Recess: School's Out" in 2002. The accompanying music video aired several times a day on The Disney Channel and received significant airplay on Radio Disney.

MYRA was raised in California. Her parents are both from Mexico and her love of Latin music is reflected in several of the album's key tracks.

MYRA made her television debut on an interstitial for the ABC primetime special "Disney's Hot Summer Jams" in June 2001, then returned to the road on numerous dates for Radio Disney. She also performed in New York with teen stars O-Town. "Performing live is the best thing of all," says MYRA. "I'm a people person, and I've already been across the country, singing in many different cities. It's just been the best experience." More recently MYRA released two albums in Japan and her last two singles, “Lie, Lie, Lie”, and “Step Into the Light” were tearing up the charts. Her song “You're the Dream”, was also the official song for The Special Olympics 2002.

In late 2004, MYRA headlined a showcase for The Make A Wish Foundation in Hollywood, CA. Also performing in the show was NinaSky, Jesse McCartney, Trevor from O-Town and Ashley Poole from Dream. MYRA also performed with Radio Disney's Jingle Jams tour along with Stevie Brock and Lizzie McGuire's Lalaine.

Now a mature 21 year-old, MYRA is back for a second ride-with a whole new style all her own. Her new single “Back To You” which features new Latin rap artist VEZE has been burning up the MTV Latin Charts. The single is currently on radio and video rotation nationwide. She can also be seen gracing the red carpet at major events such as The Latin Grammy’s, The American Music Awards, The Grammys 2008 and other special events.
