Theatrum

The band started its activity at the end of 2011, when Inessa, the vocal part, and Vladislav, the guitar part, had the idea to create a project, which would embrace both metal-opera genre with the general storyline and the progressive metal music. When the storyline was created and it was time to write the music, everything has changed. At that period one of the main concepts of the band was born – the band tried to walk away from the canonic song creation process. When the duet started recording their first song, the bass part, Vitaly, joined the band. He had an extreme interest in the project. In April 2012 the first single was released. The name of the single was “Theatre of Lies”. At that time the band members decided to call their project THEATRUM. The band was inactive until the end of 2012. Then Vitaly showed the band members a new song. The band decided to look for a new members and start playing live. Unfortunately, at this moment Vladislav leaves the band. In 2013 new members joined the band: Ivars, the drummer, and Rolands and Ugis, both on guitars. With this crew the band has recorded their first EP, “Drapery”. After the recording two members, Ivars and Rolands, left the band, devoted to their own projects. At the beginning of 2014 new members join the band: Alberts on drums and Artrurs on guitar. The new creative period starts for the band now and the band starts working with the new material. At the end of summer 2014 the band starts playing lives around Latvia. At the end of 2014 and the beginning 2015 the band plays live outside their country for the first time and plays lives at the Baltic countries. In January 2015 the new single, “Contemptible”, is released. This song is the first one recorded with the new crew. The band is working with the new material, planning to release their first album. They plan to record the album at the end of 2015. The band members do not limit themselves with musical frames and are not afraid to experiment, trying something new, sometimes even avant-garde.
