Glass Ocean Biography

Forming in the summer of 2013, as a side project for vocalist Tobias Atkins and drummer Nic Petterson (Northlane), GLASS OCEAN have since transformed into one of Australia’s most unique and captivating acts. Boasting a maturity beyond their years, their sound yields a modern twist on the progressive pop of the late 1900s, sugar-coated with a subtle hint of pure and incorruptible sensuality making for an unforgettable musical experience. GLASS OCEAN have steadily built themselves a reputation as a ‘must see’ live band in Australia. Having released two critically acclaimed EP’s and a few impressive music videos including their clip for 'Light Of The Moon' clocking up over 70,000 views on YouTube, GLASS OCEAN have gone onto support high profile acts such as WOLFMOTHER, ANATHEMA (UK), SEETHER (South Africa), NORTHLANE, SLEEPMAKESWAVES, CALIGULA'S HORSE, and CLOSURE IN MOSCOW. The group's innovative sound has garnered praise amongst industry circles, receiving a nod of approval from established international artists such as TESSERACT and POLYPHIA, as well as scoring Triple J radio airtime and Tobias being interviewed on the ‘Today Show’ (TV) in Australia. The first single 'Ghost' off their most recent release 'II' (2015), showcases a more organic sound from their debut EP 'Glass Ocean' (2014) and offers a glimpse into what can be expected from one of Australia's most prominent up and coming acts. Keep your ear to the ground. An exploration of Ambient/Progressive music and a modern take of progressive music from the 60's to the 90's.
