Courtney Dickinson Biography

Courtney Dickinson
A rarity having a clear vision of her goals early in life, country artist Courtney Dickinson paved her own, unconventional path from the start. “I knew it was going to take a lot of work to be able to pull this off, but I knew from an early age that if I wanted to be successful, I needed to put everything into my music. Luckily, I have a very supportive family that has helped along the way” said Dickinson. Going as far as dropping the stereotypical high school lifestyle for online classes in order to spend more time honing her skills, it’s obvious her tenacity, work ethic and evident talent set Dickinson apart from others chasing the music dream. Courtney is continuing her online College education and is a Sophomore studying Finance and Music Business .
Dickinson’s talent started as a toddler when she began her acting and modeling careers. At five years old, Dickinson danced with the Little General Clogger’s dance group on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. It was with that performance that Dickinson knew she was destined for the stage. “The calmness that came over me when I walked onto that stage taught me one thing – “that this is where I belong.” I have never had a problem performing and the excitement I feel when I get ready to step on stage...It’s my safe place. It feels like home.” Her dreams quickly turned from clogging to performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville with the audience singing her lyrics back to her. “To have an audience know your lyrics and sing along is one of the most incredible experiences… To have them do so at the Grand Ole Opry? That’s my goal for my next visit to the Grand Ole Opry!”
At twelve, Dickinson entered a contest with Atlanta’s Kicks 101.5 and won a duet performance with Billy Ray Cyrus during the station’s Lunchtime Live event, singing Cyrus’ “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” for listeners. As she continued to fine-tune her sound, Dickinson tested it out with performances at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, Hard Rock Battle of the Bands, the Country Music Association’s CMA Music Festival, Belk’s Southern Original Showcase, pre-show parties for Sugarland, Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy, the NCAA St. Patrick’s Day Party and the National Anthem and pre-show for the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. With these performances.
Upon her arrival in Music City, Dickinson began co-writing and recording new material. In March of 2016, she released her debut single, “Young Forever” and it landed in the Official Top 80 of the Music Row Chart. Young Forever climbed the chart to a successful # 72. Her most recent single So Over the Rainbow has exploded onto the Music Row Chart. In less than 7 weeks, So Over the Rainbow has charted in the Top 80 and has continued to climb into the TOP 40.
Despite the excitement surrounding the release, and a busy radio tour to promote the single, Dickinson maintains that her favorite part of the entire process is the weekly chart release.
“You know that feeling you get when you are waiting on a boy you like to text you back? That’s how every Thursday feels when I am waiting to see my name on the charts with some of my biggest idols.”
Aside from the success of her first single, Dickinson also performed in the Marriott Rewards Battle of the Bands, finished in the Top 3 and performed in Austin Texas at Marriott’s Corporate Event. 2017 brings tour dates from the Midwest to the East Coast, watch for appearances by Courtney throughout the U.S this summer.
With a Music Row Chart TOP 40 hits under her belt, a U.S. Summer Tour planned …as you can see; Courtney’s dreams are “So Over the Rainbow!”
Dickinson's newest single Freedom hit Top 40 on Music Row Chart. This single was self-promoted, which is a huge gamble but with a Marketing Degree, Hard Work, lots of Faith and Friends at Radio, "anything is possible" !
