About this concert
Comparable to classic storyteller artists Kyle Taylor travels the world with the wind of a troubadour in his sails. Drawing inspiration from the places he visits and the people he meets, Taylor deep-dives into everything from today's news, local and international issues, to good old fashioned love songs. Featuring something for thinkers, drinkers, fighters and hopeless romantics. Encouraged by his grandparents and Mother to become a musician, Kyle's mission has been to inspire the people that have taken him around the world finding his audience – with multiple tours to the UK and New Zealand. He has shared the stage with contemporary greats such as Josh Pyke and Gang Of Youths, as well as legends like Mick Thomas and Mondo Rock. Kyle Taylor was born in Hastings, Australia. He lived in Pearcedale with his parents, and partly did kindergarten in Pearcedale, Australia. He was introduced to motorbikes by his Father at a young age. His Mum and Dad divorced at age four, and Kyle Taylor moved to Horsham, Australia with his Mother and Brother. He finished kindergarten in Horsham and then went to primary school in Horsham. He was introduced to the electricity of the musical instrument the mouth organ (harmonica) by his Grandfather, whilst his Grandmother shared her interest of art, piano and her famous hedgehog and jelly slice among many other things. Kyle Taylor's Mother is a Mum of two boys who moved from Horsham to Geelong in 1996. Kyle Taylor changed primary school in grade 2 and attended Roslyn Primary School in Geelong. Whilst living in Tooradin with his Father, Kyle Taylor went to Koo Wee Rup High School. In school Kyle Taylor joined a band called "Lost Order" and he got a job at the local arcade joint. He graduated from college and lived in hostels and played guitar on the road. He found some hard luck in the big city so moved back to Geelong. In Geelong he met a female from the United States. He followed her heart to the United States in December 2008 and saw San Francisco & Hollywood. He saw New York, Boston and Canada, yet love eluded his shoes and Kyle Taylor flew home to Australia single. He lived for music, sex and the drugs and was lucky to meet Charlotte in Tasmania, Australia. Charlotte was from England. He moved with her from Geelong to sunny old Lorne, Australia. They got engaged. During this time Kyle visited New Zealand and moved to the United Kingdom with Charlotte. Kyle Taylor worked in the local pub in Basingstoke, U.K but unfortunately Charlotte & Kyle Taylor separated. The gravity of the separation sent Kyle Taylor rambling through Scotland & Wales and then he moved back to Australia, lonesome but free. Following his return to Australia Kyle visited New Zealand and the U.K. During his rambling he met Ellie. They traveled together through Greece, Italy, France, U.K, New Zealand and Australia. Unfortunately Kyle delve too deep into love and broke Ellie's heart and rambled his way back to Melbourne, Australia. Kyle's mental health became disturbed in 2017 and he admitted to a psychiatrist that he had a drug and alcohol addiction. Kyle was diagnosed with a self-induced psychosis and lived under the care of his Father. Unfortunately Kyle ran away from home-care and ceased his medication and sought illegal drugs thinking they would ease his suffering. It only caused Kyle to become severely psychotic and he was hospitalized in May 2018. Kyle lived in the care of his Mother but the affects of continuous addiction to drugs and alcohol caused a relapse in Kyle Taylor's mental health and he was hospitalized in 2020. Kyle's mental health journey ended in 2021. Kyle has kept with the music and believes in the fact that God is a healer, and so is Mankind. Kyle's just cruising along now to the beat of his own heart. Kyle says; "Be happy to be here for people like you". With a colourful past struggling with mental health and addiction issues Kyle has channelled his adversity into a creative energy tirelessly writing a variety of original songs. His inspirations are mainly from the folk genre and he also has some blues and alternative in his repertoire. Kyle was ostracised from the local Australian folk scene for outlandish and unpredictable behaviour associated with his mental health. He has embraced life now and channels unbridled creativity, and with his large body of work and commitment to a new professional approach, life could take any turn.
