The Jordan Luck Band Biography

‘Legend’ is a word suffering from chronic overuse syndrome these days, but when it comes to Jordan Luck, the word regains it’s full meaning and one the NZ public associates with this true blue Kiwi artist. This affection is obviously felt amongst his musical peers as well who bestowed Jordan the honour of Inaugural Inductee into the New Zealand Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame. As front man and pop-writing genius with the legendary Exponents, he clocked up a staggering 18 Top 40 singles over the years, with ‘Victoria’ recently voted by public as the 8th greatest New Zealand song of all time. These days on any given weekend you will hear packed stadiums of sports fans singing in unison (if not in-tune) ‘Why Does Love Do This To Me?’ a song that seems to have taken on the mantle as the ‘unofficial’ alternative NZ national anthem. THE JORDAN LUCK BAND is the new super deluxe Frankenstein incarnation backing the iconic kiwi singer these days. Every gig the band play the best of all those iconic tracks we know and love as well as a collection of recently penned and possible future stadium sing-a-longs of tomorrow. Meticulously designed by Jordan himself from the ground up this band has just the one purpose...to bring Jordan’s blend of pop rock genius from the past, present and future… back to the masses! Hand-picked from a wish-list of players Jordan wanted to work with the word went out, his fantasy starting line up were contacted and unsurprisingly they all signed up, there was no need to refer to the list of reserves…so, starting from the stage right part of the paddock… Bryan Bell - Wanganui–ex front man from the much-loved Dead Flowers. A guitarist, pianist ,silver scroll songwriter and one of the best Molly Ringwald styled dancers on the planet! More recently Bryan has been getting rave reviews for his record producing which includes the JLB’s first single ‘How Is The Air Up There’ Beaver - Bay Of Plenty - rock’n’roll royalty and drummer from the world famous D4.Only recently back to these fair shores Beaver notched up a veritable fruit salad of rock’n’roll adventures including a globe trotting tour with D4 supporting the Hives, playing Glastonbury and getting the Courtney Love gig as main skin beater, much more impressive than this however is that throughout it all he never once wavered from his ongoing mission of birthday suit promotion…Blenheim will never be the same! *Rich Mixture – Timaru - the chosen one: god of harmony, counterpoint, thunder…and.. pretty much anything else musical…each one of his 8 fingers could star in their own R18 movie…Mr. Mixture has formerly graced the songs and stages of Shaft ,D4, Rock’n’Roll Machine, Dead Flowers and Psycho Daises to name a few, those fingers have and will no doubt influence countless more… Joe Walsh – Belfast, Ireland ex Irish national football rep and one man band. Joe could (and does every Friday night at father teds) turn any room into a heaving mass of sweaty sing-a-long euphoria faster than most bands on their best day with just an acoustic guitar and his brontosaurian Belfast voice. Unfortunately dropped during delivery Joe’s difficult child birth manifested itself into an extreme case of irrational obsession which strangely enough seems entirely directed onto one solitary mediocre grunge band from the 90’s…no cure as yet has been discovered and sadly Joe still struggles with this affliction today. While The Jordan Luck Band still carry the torch of Jordan’s illustrious pop past by playing those beloved Exponents hits, the band also has one eye firmly on the future, with a recent bout of intense song writing for a new album, proving that Jordan’s creative muse is flourishing in its new environment. With a line-up like this, how could it be otherwise? Their latest single “How Is The Air Up There” is out now & on radio and TV. This talented group of individuals continue to bring great pop songs to their beloved Kiwi fans. Watch this space for more new releases in the 2010.
