About this concert
Howdy Yawl! Its Shroom season and tickets are ripe for the picking! This installment of The Process is our first ticketed event in over 2 years and we are pumped to say the least. First of all a massive thank you to everyone that has supported us. From our first party at the “Ghetto Mansion” - Sammy G’s house on the hill, to the first time we took a small PA to Orliegh park and began this process. Thank you for every shirt sale, every string plucked, every bass drop and every paint stroke. Thank you for your energy, you are Shroom Army and your presence gives life to our humble vision of creativity and community. Corn aside, let's introduce the venue. The Backroom is an epic venue that has been a home for the live music scene in Brisbane since the early 90’s. They are used to hosting live bands  (Katchafire actually played there just a few weeks ago) so working with us to create an electronic music event is something different for them. They have a massive smoking area for all the dirty durrie smokers and cool vape kids alike. It has a capacity of 700, so there is plenty of space for us to play, dance and paint. They are really great to work with and are very keen to see what we can bring to the space, so bring your dancing shoes, your happy hat and an assortment of fuck yeahhhhs. In true Shroom fashion there will be Phat tunes, epic amounts of live art and visuals and merch for sale inside the venue. Besides the line up, we have a few more goodies to announce over the next few weeks so stay tuned yawl.

Process Biography

The Process sound starts with mid-90s grunge/alternative era hooks and edgy melodies. The band adds complex arrangements, unexpected time signatures and twists to make it entirely their own. Influences stem from the great bands of the 90s - Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Helmet, Weezer, etc. Process also incorporates progressive sound from bands like Radiohead and Queens of the Stone Age. Vocally, singer/songwriter Adam Rooke uses Beatles-like melodies and harmonies with a powerful Foo Fighters-esque edge. The result is unbridled rock music that sticks to the listener while not compromising itself to typical pop-rock tendencies. Process has recently completed a 6-song demo that showcases the band’s range and quality of songwriting. They have been playing various gigs throughout Chicago and its suburbs for the past 5 years. Having been friends since grade school, they have a bond that most bands don’t. This is evident in their music, and also results in a particularly tight live sound. Adam Rooke (guitar-vocals), Nick Sperti (guitar), Brad Neville (drums), and Brian Reichard (bass) grew up together. The band hooked up in 1995, and when they weren’t covering Nirvana, they began crafting their own songs. They made their live debut in 1998 at their high school talent show, where they performed as Seven Ten Split. After high school, the band changed their name to Process. Preachin' like holy men.
