Tanghetto Biography
Tanghetto is an Argentinian band led by Max Masri and Diego S. Velázquez formed in 2001. Their music is blend of nuevo tango of Buenos Aires - style initiated by Astor Piazzolla and electronic music.
Max Masri is one of the last disciples of the legendary tango composer Virgilio Expósito.
The name "Tanghetto" (the combination of the words "tango" and "ghetto") was inspired by the "little argentinas", the communities of exiled argentines living overseas.
Their first album "Emigrante" was nominated for a Latin Grammy award in 2004, and reached gold status in Argentina in 2005.
