Ria Curley Music & Digital Art Biography

Singer/songwriter, RIA CURLEY, who has 22 of her songs signed to international music publisher, WARNER-CHAPPELL MUSIC, began her musical career as the teenage bandleader of six musical siblings performing her original songs and delighting patrons at Ross’s Restaurant in Oneida, New York.

Ria's "Take Me" CD, which received airplay and an overwhelming response on New York City radio (WBLS & CD101.9) and is currently selling internationally on iTunes, Amazon.com and other sites around the world, was co-written and recorded with such musical talents as Trevor Gale (drums, Whitney Houston), Mark White (bass, Spin Doctors), Adam Falcon (guitar, Roberta Flack, George Benson), Frank Elmo (sax, Southside Johnny, Julian Lennon), Hubert Eaves (D-Train) and more!

Some of Ria's musical highlights include...

being interviewed as a guest artist on WBLS' "QUIET STORM" with The Whispers & Vaughn Harper;

singing background for Patti Austin on the JOAN RIVERS SHOW;

acting and singing in soap operas, TV commercials and jingles, including the Guiding Light, Loving, 1-800-FLOWERS, Ford, Roy Rogers & Hardees;

earning a credit as Associate Executive Producer on a Grammy-nominated Frank Sinatra CD compilation;

and even teaching JIMMY STEWART the kick line finale for the "Night of 100 Stars" finale at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL!

After graduating from Colgate University, Ria moved to New York City, where she performed her original songs and created a large following at music clubs in & around Manhattan (including The Bitter End, China Club, Meadowlands, etc.) for over a decade. During that time, Ria not only received airplay on major New York City radio stations, but was also a featured artist at a major CD 101.9 concert at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

In 2003, Ria moved to Saratoga Springs, where she began performing jazz standards, r&b, and her own original songs and pleasing crowds at the Saratoga Arts Festival, the Songwriter’s Showcase at Gaffney’s, Riverfront Studios Fine Art Studios, the Circus Cafe, the Inn At Saratoga, and the Batcheller Bowl Fundraiser for the Giving Circle, to name a few. In Saratoga, Ria was also a featured artist on the acclaimed “Saratoga Pie” CD, produced by Grammy-winner Joel Moss and Charlie Eble to benefit local charities.

Ria is presently working on a new album of original "groove-oriented, piano-based, jazzy r&b/pop/rock" tunes to be released later this year. In her free time, Ria dreams of singing a duet with Michael McDonald and riding around on the back of a giant sea turtle in the Galapagos Islands!
