Deacon Cross

In 1998 Deacon Cross met 2 members of 'The Island Connection' who taught him to play records (Paul Roos and William Horstman), and soon he was playing with them in the local bar dancing. He soon ended up in the 'Basement' of the largest disco in Rotterdam, where he was a resident for 7 years. He also started producing and worked in a studio and record store, but when vinyl gave way to CDs and Progressive house was dying out, he stopped spinning and made a big turn in his life. He went to study theology to become a deacon in the Catholic Church. He completed that degree and was ordained a deacon in 2018 to serve in a parish. He still does, but the big question remained how he could reach normal people in society with his message of faith, hope and love. When he felt the need to start playing again, he got the answer. His music allowed him to connect his vocation and the life of modern man, to be an ordinary DJ on the one hand, and a man of God on the other. He has also started producing again and has already delivered several tracks and remixes on labels like Soundteller, Future Avenue and 9Degree. All with a spiritual content. Because that is being a DJ for him, a spiritual process in which heaven and earth are connected. Let the music elevate your spirit ..
