MAPS Biography
Maps is James Chapman.
Maps released critically lauded debut album 'We Can Create' in 2007 and was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Music prize.
2nd album 'Turning the Mind' (2009) was seen by The Observer as “a masterpiece that stands with the best.”
Maps released his 3rd album 'Vicissitude' in 2013, described as “10 tracks of soul-baring introspection swathed in layers of rich reverb, icy chill and ephemeral echoes of 30 years of synth pop” (Clash).
'Realigned' was released in 2014, a collection of remixes spanning all of Maps' albums.
Chapman released his fourth album, ‘Colours. Reflect. Time. Loss.’, on the 10th May 2019 through Mute.
