AMERI’KANA TV was produced in 2020 by Yonas Media and Art As Mentorship. The conversations and performances captured dig into the question, “What is American music?” Filmed across New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Memphis, the collection of voices shared represent the multicultural and multilingual fabric of zydeco, blues, jazz, gospel, r&b, rock and roll, and latin roots music. AMERI’KANA TV is a testament to the fact that we are all united through the histories of our music. Yonas Media is an independent music management and production company dedicated to supporting artists and their recordings. We are a cooperative launching pad for musicians who have an original approach to creating and performing music. Art As Mentorship is an organized network of international performing artists committed to guiding the next generation through the power of song.
