HY

Formed in 2000. HY is a 5 piece band from Uruma-shi, Okinawa. The band name “HY” stands for their hometown Higashi Yakena. They still reside in Okinawa, and are actively performing all around Japan and the world. 8 albums has been released up to date, and 3 nationwide tours including arena shows were held. In 2007, the band had North American tour in eight major cities such as NY, LA ,Texas, and they have collaborate with the Human Beatbox legendary Doug E Fresh. In 2010 and 2012, they were on NHK “Kohakuutagassenn”, which is a traditional music program airs every New Year’s Eve. HY’s music and their down-to-earth characters have attracted various generations. In 2013, they have established their own label “ASSE!! Records” in Okinawa and 9th album “GLOCAL” was released. “ GLOCAL” is a combination of global and local , in hope of rooting in local with global mind. Following “GLOCAL”, 10th album “Lover” was released and first concept album that expresses appreciation for their fans and their precious ones. The premium album tour in 6 cities caught their fans heart. In 2015, HY celebrates their 15th anniversary. 11th album “LIFE” was released in July 15th, and they are on nationwide hall tour.
