Between Horizons

Between Horizons are a Dundalk based metal band formed in 2012, then known as "Nowhere Sacred". The band began with Bassist Shane Piper (User Illusion) and their original guitarist E.D. who hunted down James Ruddy (Subjective Reality), and Lauren Murphy (Forced Out Vision), to form a metalcore style group. After months of writing and rehearsing, the band made it into the studio in July 2012, to record a four song demo, but unforeseen circumstances led to E.D.'s departure from the band. Introducing new guitarist Stephen Hughes, (Valediction). As soon as the four met they instantly hit it off and writing started to flow back. Tragedy soon came in the form of a hugely debilitating injury for guitarist, Steve. While working at his then job, Steve was badly injured when he caught his hand in an automated machine. The injuries to his hand were extensive and there was a strong possibility that he would not play guitar again. After many months of healing and physiotherapy Steve miraculously gained finger motion back in his hand and slowly started playing guitar again. Writing recommenced and extensive rehearsals introduced an incredibly strong and tight dynamic to the band’s sound which grew far beyond what it originally had been. In August 2013 after almost 18 months since it’s inception the band, who are now about to record their first EP, finally played their first show.
