Dina Regine Music and Art Biography

Native New Yorker, pizza, and egg cream lover, Dina Regine refers to herself as a creative juggler. Published photographer, DJ, singer-songwriter/performing musician are the things that keep Dina busy. After Regine’s deal with Sony Music with her band Naked Grape, she went solo and has released 3 independent records, ‘Be As It Will’, ‘Blame It On The Moon’, & ‘Right On, Alright’. In 2018, Regine released a side project single & video with The Rousers called ‘Take A Ride To The Lower East Side’, a Ramones inspired tune, paying tribute to her favorite neighborhood downtown. The song got its debut on WFUV, opening the Cavalcade show. Regine’s most recent full length record ‘Right On, Alright’, that the Aquarian Weekly called “A Vintage-Fueled Ride”, & Twangville described as “A little bit of blues, a little bit of country and a whole lotta gritty soul”, has garnered her world-wide airplay, and made Steven Van Zandt’s top 20 ‘Coolest Songs In The World’ list on the Underground Garage. Several songs from the album were featured in the movie Black Widows, and the opening track ‘Gotta Tell You’ was featured in Lilyhammer. 12/1 Regine released a side project called The Sunflower Sessions with Mark Plati (David Bowie), Charlie Giordano (Bruce Springsteen) and artist Noah Hoffeld, a 3 song EP covering Bob Dylan and Lead Belly. Regine is currently working on a new full length record called Astoria, her childhood neighborhood,

AMERICAN SONGWRITER:
"A gal who can actually talk about “getting my mojo on,” without soul aficionados sticking their fingers down their throats. It’s been a while since you’ve experienced that, I’ll reckon. With what sounds like the slow-burning cats from Stax behind her, just give a listen to Dial My Number.”

AQUARIAN WEEKLY:
"Vintage-fueled Ride"

BLOGCRITICS:
“Original, one of the top 'retro' releases of the year"

RUST MAGAZINE:
"A super duper awesome album"

CLASSIC ROCK REVISITED:
"This sounds fresh, but is oh so old school"

NEW YORK CITY LIVE:
"Smart, tuneful, lyrical thoughtful old-school soul revivalist

THE ECLECTIC EAR:
“A huge talent … I’m thrilled to name her ‘Artist of the Month’"

Don McGee WFUV MIXED BAG:

TWANGVILLE:
"a little bit of blues, a little bit of country and a whole lotta gritty soul"

AMERICANA HIGHWAYS MAGAZINE
"This is as thoughtful and haunting of an interpretation of Bob Dylan as you'll ever find"

AMERICAN BLUES SCENE
"WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT... she preserves both the song’s haunting quality and the folk-blues practitioner’s legacy. By using vocal emphasis to stylize her voice, however, she undeniably puts her own stamp on the classic"
