About this concert
Gain the insight and inspiration you need to stop beating yourself up and finally finish that song. Surprise yourself with the creativity that is already within you. In this five-week workshop, you will learn: •Tips and tools for how to sharpen your songs and presentation. •Simple voice techniques that will relax you. •How to speak between songs. •Where to release your music without needing a middle man to do it for you. •How to be a total artist without waiting for someone to discover you. (This workshop continues where the last one left off; however, beginners can benefit from this without having taken the last course) ABOUT LOUISE: Louise Goffin, a generational songwriter with accolades and a pedigree anyone could envy has made her way in the world empowering herself as an artist. There was no better place to learn songwriting’s mysteries and methods than at the knees of her parents: Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Louise has the performance, songwriter, and recording accolades to prove that she learned well. Louise’s sense of how to find the center of a song is something she has been teaching for years to grateful classes. Now you can join her for a five-week, intensive virtual songwriting workshop series. A small group of attendees will be part of a personal look at your own unique stories and the focus of this workshop will be tailored to the small group we assemble. Each session will run 90 minutes. Together the class will explore topics like: • All the things you need to be brilliant, you already have! • Songwriting time-wasters & confidence killers As well as how to: 1. Access good and rich topics to write about 2. Realize you don't need to know how to play an instrument 3. Reframe what you think are liabilities into assets 4. Expand your toolbox, write more, have more choices of what to take out 5. Change your beliefs about what is realistic and possible 6. Get out of self-judgment when you could be creating your best work 7. Access new sources of inspiration 8. Be your own master of knowing what's best for the song Now, for the nitty-gritty, in bullet-points for ease of digestion. • The class meets online at 7pm EST on 5 Tuesdays in March (March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30). • The cost of the course is $300 for five weeks. • The class is limited to 20 students.

Louise performed an amazingly fun concert imbued with the most beautiful music. She sang a long set with an eclectic mix of her own songs and well-known covers. The love of her music had her audience singing along. She intertwined her songs with anecdotes about events in her musical career. On some of the tracks, Louise was joined onstage by Craig Greenberg, an outstanding songwriter with amazing piano chops and on others by Dillon Kondor who exudes incredible talent as a guitarist. I loved it that the audience was comprised of some of Louise's longtime fans and others for whom it was a first hearing her in concert. Just prior to the concert, Louise conducted a master songwriting class which I attended and left with a treasure trove of new ideas. I hope this venue will host Louise again. She is an exemplary singersongwriter whose music brought me back to playing after a decades long hiatus.

Louise Goffin Biography

Singer-songwriter and Grammy-nominated album producer, Louise Goffin,
with a career spanning since childhood, joins forces with songwriter friends
for an immersive experience celebrating the power of songs and
songwriting. This tour marks the inaugural launch of the Goffin-King
Foundation "on the road" dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy,
inspiration, and excellence of Gerry Goffin & Carole King’s songwriting.
Goffin also produces and hosts Song Chronicles, a podcast featuring in-
depth insider conversations about the creative process with songwriters
and industry legends. Currently producing her 11th album, and working
on her one-woman show, Louise remains an active artist and songwriter
releasing an impressive catalog of songs to a global audience while
advocating for emerging songwriters. Goffin's accolades include
producing the Grammy-nominated Carole King album, "A Holiday Carole”
and is known by generations of loyal Gilmore Girls fans for singing on the
opening theme.
The Goffin-King Foundation hosts highly sought-after retreats for
songwriting. As the director of these retreats, Louise is regarded as both a
mentor for aspiring songwriters and a guiding influence with a treasure
trove of experience in her DNA. She produces retreats that connect
songwriters and provides them with valuable opportunities to collaborate
and enhance their craft, especially those who may feel isolated in their
pursuit of writing the next “great song”. We warmly invite fortunate
audiences to an engaging and truly unique event of music, storytelling,
history, humor, participation, and exceptional talent... an experience that
will remain etched in their memories for a long time.
