Colin Phils Biography

Colin Phils is an American post rock band formed in South Korea in 2013. The band self-released their first album, titled "Right at Home" in June 2014, and a single Best Foot Forward in December 2014. “e,r,som,sa...” was released in Hong Kong via Sweaty & Cramped on May 29th, 2016. The band then went on tour through out all the major cities in China on their “Big China Tour.” “Star Charts” was released in December 2017 as a split album along with Richmond, Virginia’s “Houdan the Mystic”. Followed by another China tour in January 2018, including a performance at MIDI festival in Shenzhen, China.
Most recently (2019) the band released an acoustic version of their song “Don Cabs” and recorded their 4th full length album. 2019 summer for Colin Phils included a post rock festival performance at “POST RVA FEST” in
Richmond, VA and another CHINA TOUR in July & August, spanning 20+ cities.
The Fourth Full Length album “Trust/ Fall” comes out on March 20th, 2020.

Colin Phils’ sound has been described as part math-rock, part post-rock, with catchy hooks and harmonies throughout. The band has toured throughout South Korea, China, Hong Kong, and the USA, and is now based in Richmond, Virginia. Colin Phils offers complex instrumental music (guitar loops, synth lines, distorted bass, and intricate drumming) along with vocals filled with harmonies.
