What is the Ethno Vocal Groove? It is a way to make the western world aware of the multiple techniques and vocal approaches of the wider world. A lynchpin between the western and African worlds with a touch of Asian vocal music. A breakout from the tropical forest to the ethnic blends of the city which lead us deep within our natural being. What to expect? Over 2 sessions of 60 minutes each, we will guide you gradually through different vocal methods such as rhythmic breathing, African song (mantra), the articulation of onomatopoeia and a touch of soulful and Latino style. We will celebrate this musical universe by singing songs and promoting techniques seldom never used in western academies. Join us in solo or groups of 2 or 3. Time: SESSION I @ 1:30 pm 15 min. break SESSION II @ 2:45 pm About Marie and Anita We are sisters and we learned our musical skill from our European and African heritage. We have travelled around Africa and have learned from and shared with Griots, Tuareg, Berber, Dongon, Mbuti, Peulh, Mobudu, Zulu, Harlem Church, and others. Our new normal will be cyberspace.
