barron Biography

‘Passionate, emotional and powerful’ is how one critic described BARRON’s sound. This is as succinct yet accurate as it gets. Since forming in the summer of 2014 having met through some of Manchester’s universities, BARRON have developed their sound, energetic live performances and burgeoning following to become one of the city’s leading acts. Radio airplay has also been significant including promotion by Mancunian DJ, Terry Christian, “A band like this would have been signed years ago. Its got that anthemic push about it, it’s and ambitious sound, it’s just quality” Originating from a combination of Stockport, Devon and Yorkshire, BARRON are Alex Barron on piano and lead vocals, Lewis Jones on guitar and backing vocals, Alex Procter on bass and Aaron Haigh on drums. Defined by the anthemic piano riffs that sit at the heart of their music, BARRON have created a unique and memorable feel good sound. With driving bass lines, powerful drums and haunting vocal melodies and their ‘arsenal of big tunes’, they are sure to leave you wanting to hear more. Another critic wrote ‘Delayed guitar riffs, Alex Barrons soaring voice and the sheer power of their sound beg to be played in massive venues’. Along with gigs throughout the North of England, Wales, London and the South West of England, sold out shows at Manchester’s Deaf Institute, Sound Control and The Castle indicate just how popular the band’s sound is becoming. Summer festival appearances at Dot to Dot, Tramlines, Long Division, Blackthorn, Glass Butter Beach, Bankswood and topped off with a slot at Leeds Festival demonstrate their meteoric rise in their first full summer since forming.
