1967 Biography
1967, Melting Minds Musically Phoenix, AZ- 1967, in association with Jagermeister, has released their latest E.P. to the public, a four song effort of original material available 5/25/12 on ITUNES and all other digital retailers entitled “If Love Ruled The World.” Founded in 2009 by Jaime Reynolds and Gordon Burks, former band mates in Washington State group, Prozack Staple, as a long-distance collaboration, 1967 has evolved into a 4-piece ensemble focusing on hooky, chorus driven hard rock with elements of groove readily apparent in the instrumentals. Reynolds, who performs lead vocal and guitar duties, was living in the Phoenix area and recruited bassist Jordan Courtney, drummer Nathan Marchi, and guitarist Scotty Saenz to expand on the original ideas, perform live original and cover music, and record new material. Compared favorably to Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Incubus, Chevelle, Queens of the Stone Age, Breaking Benjamin, and Metallica, 1967 quickly has made a name for themselves with hard driving, straight ahead rock shows by focusing on the music and energizing the crowd rather than relying on theatrics. Varying the performance of every song from show to show, complete with Hendrix and Zepplin type riffs and mid song musical improvisation, 1967 created an edgy, modern feel to go with classic rock values and spirit. 1967 members have shared the stage with the following bands: Slayer, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Hed P,E, Mushroomhead, American Head Charge, Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, Tantric, Alien Ant Farm, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Agent Orange, Kings X, Accept, Harvey Danger, Hell Bastards, Resistant Culture, Jackyl, Scum of the Earth, Jason Devore (from Authority Zero), and David Ellefson (from Megadeth). Sponsored by Jagermeister and Jagermusic, long time supporters of quality hard rock, 1967 shows throughout the Southwest feature frequent appearance by Jager Girls spokes models, as well as freebies and giveaways of customized 1967/Jagermeister merchandise.
