ABOUT ROB, FISH HARMONICS, AND LOTS OF ACCORDIONS IN STORE Rob Curto is an accordionist, pianist, composer, and bandleader. When able to share physical location with bandmates, his current project is Fish Harmonics, a Philadelphia-based ensemble that plays adventurous, unabashedly accordion-focused American roots music that would have been diving into a GREAT Spring season right about now. Influenced by celtic, old time, and modern bluegrass, the band brings a unique free-wheeling and improvisational energy to both classic tunes and original compositions. The sound echoes Rob's interests and experiences playing music around the world, highlighting the versatility and general awesomeness of both the accordion as an instrument and Rob as a masterful musician. This show will feature a hearty dose of originals and covers usually played by Fish Harmonics, with some Classic Curto™ repertoire from Brazilian, blues, and jazz sounds. You might recognize a Rob Curto's Forró For All jam. There's certain to be echoes of Maggie's Boots with some jigs and/or reels on the button box, really an inevitability. There are likely to be cat and/or tiny dog cameos by the resident pets at Philly Wolf Den. And we hope there will be a great evening of musical sharing with you!
