Wow. In a blink of an eye, the world has changed so dramatically and we all are feeling this shock, grief and uncertainty about what the future may hold. This is a time in which we need to find new ways of being together and to do things that are more meaningful than just scrolling through social media, binge watching Netflix or reading every scary breaking news piece about Covid-19! Creativity provides this channel. It feels good to hold/see/listen to something you have created, and to show your creation to others, but more than that, BEING creative feels amazing in the moment, whether or not you show it to others afterwards. You lose track of time, and experience what psychologists call "flow", a state of clarity and focus that feels INTRINSICALLY meaningful. This can be so helpful and healing for ourselves and others. The trouble is, if you are all cooped up at home, it can be hard to motivate yourself to be creative. It's so much easier just to switch on Netflix and veg out. And that is why having others to help motivate you is really helpful. That is why, I can now announce that every Friday from 6pm BST (GMT +1), I will be hosting a live music session where we can make music... together! I am inviting you to come hang out, have fun while I produce, from scratch, a tune using things submitted by you. I will be doing this every week so I will seek to make sure everyone gets their parts used in some way or another And when we are done we will have a finished collaborative track. However, throughout the process, I will also be making available the sounds we are using, so you can download them and use them in your own productions. This way, I hope to inspire a chain reaction of creativity, of people remixing and reworking different things. It is totally your choice how you decide to use the sounds we make as well as the possible connections with other artists. I will be offering tips, guidance and feedback for anyone signed up for the livestream and will be also allocate time to listening through music you may be working on so I can offer that feedback live. I know what you're thinking, how much is this going to cost? At the moment, I am offering access to these weekly livestreams for anyone that supports me on Patreon at anything above the $5 dollar amount. I see this as a community offering as I'm sure you'll agree $5 for production sessions every week is pretty nuts cheap. But it is an experimental session, I've never done anything like this before so I'm sure there will be the odd kink to iron out. But mainly, I just really want to offer something that will support us all at this crazy time. I’m really excited about this and can’t wait to see what we can co-create.
