Gallium Biography

It is the idea of playing Metal music with a different style, as to be a breath of fresh air that people deserved. It is their story of their Up-rise of Struggle they will conquer. A different kind of Metal with elements of different musical styles mixed in to give the people something new. Although some names and faces have changed the goal is the same. This band has always had an up hill climb, nothing has been given to them, they have earned everything thing they have, and they will continue their hunt to rise to the top. Til Death or Glory, no matter what obstacle they face or challenge they need to overcome, they will seize it to their advantage. They are a band who is here and will make their stand. This is GALLIUM. The idea of GALLIUM was started by two friends in high school, Aaron Oliver and Brian Ambriz. Both of which had a devoted passion for the music they enjoyed. Bands like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden where the first to draw these guys close together, til one day while in their classroom they had and idea.."let's start a band." During this time the idea seemed ridiculous because the two had never even picked up a guitar! For about 4-5 months, they had not been seen from friends because they were trying to learn as much as they could on the guitar. Later, the two would schedule their first "band practices" in which Aaron would meet Brian at his house which was across the street. After exploring each others strengths' and weaknesses', Brian over heard Aaron keeping a tune with his voice. Aaron at the time, had never thought in a million years he would ever be a singer. The decision was made by the two that Aaron would continue singing to become the bands Lead Vocalist and Brian would be the Lead Guitarist. In the summer of 2009 Brian Ambriz met a guy at a party who was new to California by the name of Juan Merlan. Juan was a drummer out of Ranger, Texas; who was looking for a devoted band to join. After many many missed phone calls, the 3 guys jammed for the first time and it was a match made in heaven. Juan Merlan joined Gallium as the bands drummer. Later on that same year through a friend the guys met Adam Peppers who became the bassist making Gallium a complete band. Several months of practice and composing songs together, the bands rhythm guitar player at the time Francis was forced to leave the band due to a family decision, leaving Aaron to play rhythm guitar while he sang vocals at the same time. By 2010, Gallium had been involved in many performances at local bars, restaurants and small venues; Fullerton, Long Beach, San Bernardino, Anaheim, West Hollywood, Riverside and of course, Moreno Valley. In early March of 2011, Adam had to move to Redondo Beach, leaving Gallium bass-less. After 7 months of recruiting and auditioning multiple bass guitarists, the guys met Trevor Arnold. Trevor was a guy Juan knew during his brief time at Vista Del Lago high school in Moreno Valley, Ca. who was a drummer in a local band called "The Shanties". At the time, Trevor was sceptical about the band because he had never seen them or heard any of their work. After watching Gallium perform at Papa Joe’s Pizza in Moreno Valley, he knew they were on to something huge so he quickly joined as soon as he could. After Trevor’s enlistment, Gallium continued to do many local shows. Later on that year, Trevor Arnold resigned from the band due to personal issuses. Looking once again for a bass player, Brian Ambriz came across a guitar player he met while working by the name of Henry Moreno. Henry at the time was not really looking to join a band but after going to to a rehearsal he realized that the band was doing amazing and new things, so joined the band. Even though he was a dedicated guitar player he made the sacrifice to play bass to fulfill band needs. As time progressed, the band seemed to be flat. Brian Ambriz and GALLIUM had had lost communication between eachother when it came down the GALLIUM business. The guys felt it was a desperate time for a change. With a heavy heart, GALLIUM had to spilt ways with their brother Brian Ambriz for the benefit of the band. Til this day, it was the hardest and saddest day in the history of GALLIUM. What was done was needed to be done in order for the change. *The New Chapter* After a break-up of the band "Cheri Way" Ryan Fuentes was on the rebound trying to chase his dream. After making numerous phone calls he decided to call Aaron Oliver in hopes of finding available, dedicated musicians. Ryan began jamming with ex-GALLIUM guitarist Brian Ambriz and ex-bassist Adam Peppers. The project started hitting a lot of bumps and ended up falling through. Soon after out of the blue, Juan and Ryan talk about possiblly jamming together in the near future. They finally where able to pick a day that was good on both sides and set the date. The rehearsal with Ryan and GALLIUM was so epic, it gave everyone goosebumps because of how amazing the blend was. With Ryan's screams snd GALLIUM's heavy melodic energy, it all fit perfectly. With Brian Ambriz out, Henry had the chance to prove himself as an elite guitarist in which he dropped jaws, and left the band in speechless. With one more piece of the puzzle left missing, Trevor Arnold came back to the band stronger then ever before. By July Gallium was complete and ready to take on the world. Their 3 song demo Uprise of Struggle consisting of: Actions Speak Louder than Words, Lunatic, and Mad Monkey demonstrates a different kind of Metal with elements of different musical styles mixed in to give the people something new. More determined than ever, GALLIUM continues to stride for their goals, and make a stand for what they believe in.. The Music and The People.
